Advocacy and awareness

We actively contribute to the development and influence of migration and asylum legislation in Czechia and the EU, as well as public policies related to migrant integration. Our goal is to improve and create more welcoming conditions for migrants in our country. We advocate for the active involvement of municipalities and regions in the integration process. By collaborating with policymakers, experts, and the public, we work towards a fairer and more open approach to migration.

How do we support change?

• Providing feedback on laws and policies – We conduct analyses and propose legislative changes, particularly regarding the Asylum and Foreigners’ Residence Act.
• Membership in advisory bodies – By actively participating in national advisory bodies, we share information and experiences from our counseling and fieldwork.
• Networking – We collaborate with other civil society organizations to amplify our voice.
• Media activities – We provide commentary on current topics, cooperate with journalists, and publish expert materials.
• Awareness and education – We organize seminars, discussions, and lectures in schools and participate in cultural events and festivals.

At Simi, we strive to raise public awareness about migration. We believe that open dialogue helps break down prejudices and fosters greater mutual understanding. Our goal is to help society better understand the experiences of migrants and refugees and build stronger connections with them.
