Fair Migration and Asylum Policy

We strive for a fair asylum and migration policy that can be understood by all. Through expert and advocacy work, we influence legislation, public policies and social discourse in the areas of asylum, migration and integration, including their intersectionality with other areas.
Programme in numbers:
- 33+ years active in the field of legislation and public education on migration and asylum.
- 2023 – We helped advocate for access to public health insurance for children of migrants with long-term residence.
- 2022 – We contributed to the amendment of the Lex Ukraine law, including the expansion of the definition of vulnerable groups in its fifth version.
- 2018 – The Constitutional Court repealed part of the Law on Residence of Foreigners based on our proposal.
- 2015 – Together with members of the Consortium of Migrants Assisting Organizations, we published the Migration Manifesto, which forms the value basis of our advocacy work.
Objectives
Our aim is to promote non-discriminatory asylum and migration policies and to advocate for the rights of migrants through systematic advocacy work that includes expert analysis, public campaigns and dialogue with state institutions and politicians. We strive for better and more welcoming conditions for migrants in our country.
In order to achieve our goals and results, we focus, among others, on the following activities:
- Participation in the development and influence of migration, integration and asylum legislation and public policies related to the entry, stay and integration of migrants in the Czech Republic
- Active cooperation with civil society organisations and others on systemic changes, at local, national, European and global level, and joint search for broader social consensus and social justice
- Creating and publishing articles, policy briefs, expert studies, briefing papers and analyses on migration and asylum policy on our Fair Migration Policy website
