The Constitution of the Czech Republic guarantees the right to free primary education. Everyone should have equal access to education and educational institutions. This right also applies to children with special educational needs. Legal guardians are obliged to ensure that their children attend school and complete compulsory school attendance.
Preschool education is compulsory in the Czech Republic. There is no legal entitlement to admission to kindergarten under the age of 3.
